February 10, 2017 was the last opportunity for House Bills to be introduced this legislative session. Additionally, this week is the last chance for bills to be heard and approved by their committee of origin.
This session, there are several bills currently on our radar that directly impact Arizona HOAs. These bills include:
Homeowners' associations; open meetings

The maximum fees that a condominium association or homeowners' association are permitted to charge for costs of document preparation must include delivery costs.

Within 30 days after election or appointment to a condominium association or homeowners' association board of directors, each board member is required to certify in writing that s/he has read the community documents and any current policies, will work to uphold those documents and policies, and will faithfully discharge his/her fiduciary responsibility to the HOA.
