Legislative Updates

This week, Senate committees will consider House bills, and House committees will consider Senate bills.

This week, only two committees will meet. The Senate and House Appropriations committees are the last chance for Senate or House bills to move through a committee in their chamber of origin.

February 10, 2017 was the last opportunity for House Bills to be introduced this legislative session.

Prior to the deadline to introduce bills in the Senate, six new bills were added, SB 1371, SB1400, SB1401, SB1402, SB1429 and HB2411. More details are below. 

With the deadline to introduce new legislation in the Senate on Monday, January 30^th, it is predicted that there will be a flood of bills introduced prior to the deadline at 5:00 p.m.
